This project started as a photography concept that my good friend Nua was working on. He was bringing me on to be a photography assistant, but it turned into me being the Director and DP. What began as a photo project turned into a video project. Nua has a deep passion for blending music with his photography, and for this project, he chose the album ‘American Dream’ by 21 Savage. The album’s opening track features a poem spoken by 21 Savage’s mother, where she reflects on the struggles she faced to give her son a better life. These words stuck with Nua, connecting with his own childhood experiences.

The project features seven models, Nua himself, and his mother, Emmie. The models, along with Nua, represent the children of America, while Emmie symbolizes the mothers around the world who watch over their children and work to create better opportunities for them. Where would we be without our moms :)
